Save the Hall

Please Help us Repair and Renovate the Mechanics’ Hall

The Warrandyte Mechanics’ Institute needs your help — after 94 years the structure of this historical wooden building is showing its age. Although the Mechanics’ Hall has been repaired and added to over the years, the building has recently begun to deteriorate to the extent that extensive and expensive structural renovations have now become urgent.

The Hall needs your donation, which can be made by clicking on the ‘Donate’ button below. You can pay by credit or debit card, or using your PayPal account if you have one. All donations over $2 in Australia are tax deductible, so save the receipt.

Thank you

About the Hall

The Warrandyte Mechanics’ Institute Hall has for many years provided a central, essential, and easily accessible venue for all forms of art and performance to members of the local community. The hall and its land, owned by the Warrandyte community, is operated in trust by the WMIAA.

Today the arts community associated with the hall, including the renowned Warrandyte Theatre Company, is flourishing and the building is in near constant use — holding meetings, workshops, classes, events, shows and social occasions. Literally thousands of people use and enjoy the venue each year.

With its future in jeopardy — we are calling on support from within the community, so this vital asset can continue to be available to the people of Warrandyte and Manningham for many years to come.
